|French term or phrase: Lotophages|
|Calling all Classicists !|
Sailing history. Greek mythology. Returning from the Trojan war, Ulysses was forced to change course due to a storm and land on unknown islands inhabited by the hostile "Lotophages", a lotus-eating people. Once Ulysses' men had tasted lotuses, he had one hell of a job getting them back on ship as lotuses apparently induce a delicious feeling of 'oubli'.
Does anyone out there know the English word to describe this mythical people ?
