Thanks branka and golub as well - golub's comments affirmed branka's educated guess. There is an important Jewish community in the city in question (Essaouira, in Morocco) and I had deduced it to be some kind of symbol of their faith or presence, but did not connect "chandelier" with the menorah. Thanks for the clarification!

there was and there is still an important Jewish community in morocco, the andaluz/jewish/arabic influences are intertwined in the local architecture
i don't know if you must keep the hebrew name
