Given the context described as "coitus description", I consider it unlikely that the expression is used here with the meaning of LIVING together, but simply of having sex as a threesome. The classified adverts (small ads) of a great many newspapers, not to mention Internet, are full of offers and demands, and Sat. night TV on Canal+, Thursday night TV on M6, and Sunday night TV on M6 too (don't quote me) is full of three-in-a-bed sex, or was last time I looked.
