Marketing - Automation & Robotics / semi-automatic pallet wrapping machine
French term or phrase: pose de coiffe
This is a decsription of the functions and settings on a semi-automatic pallet wrapping machine (stretch film):

• Banderoleuse à gestion programmable de 3 fonctions : cycle automatique
montée et descente du chariot-bobines ( montée, montée et descente,
pose de coiffe), nombre de tours haut et bas (1/4 tours).

I see that "coiffe" means "cap" but that doesn't help me.I think it's something to do with a stationary position but am unsure how to phrase this.

Any suggestions, please?

capping sheet
Explanation:
The machine seems to be used to wrap the pallets in an upright position, but if you want to see the top, presumably before wrapping the pallets up tightly you can spread a sheet of plastic horizontally - I suppose that is what is meant. The picture in the link shows this type of machine.

I'm not sure this is quite the right terminology, but that's what it means in my opinion.

Not 'see' - 'seal the top' of course!

Thank you. I found out that you can use either a net or a kind of plastic bag to protect the load and keep it together.

Thank you all for your help!

To me, "coiffe" implies more the preformed type.

Label placement or labelling

Explanation:
In the distribution of the press we talk of "coiffes". It is simply the packing label which goes on the top of each bundle and contains all the address and transport information as to the destination of the bundle. The EN equivalent, in the press, is "label".
