French term or phrase: sortant
This is from a specification relating to the digitizing of "Robcad" library components (application = car body welding robots).

In a section entitled "Codification et orientation des repères" (see http://www.proz.com/kudoz/1908124 for Q. on "repère"), it states that:

Thanks for any help regarding the translation of "sortant" in this context.

Explanation:
THIS IS A 3-AXIS SPATIAL REFERENCE SYSTEM ON A NUMERICALLY CONTROLLED DEVICE. I HAVE DONE LOT OF TRANSLATION FOR SUCH A SYSTEM.

NOTE: THIS IS INTENDED TO BE A "SUPPORT TICKET" BUT I'M NOT SURE HOW TO COMPLETE ONE

Example sentence(s):
  • THE Z (AXIS) EXTENDS FROM THE PART, NORMAL TO THE X-Y PLANE
