"Crédit stocks affecté: Habituellement utilisé pour financer les stocks VO et les véhicules de démonstration, sur une courte période."
(VO=véhicules d'occasion)
Can anyone tell me what this term is called in English? Many thanks
(It comes under a paragraph entitled "Le financement de stocks" that also includes "crédit stocks non affecté", "crédit de campagne", and "Ligne de crédit pour financement de stocks").

credit earmarked for stock
Explanation:
Le crédit affecté est un crédit consenti pour financer l'achat d'un bien ou d'une prestation de services déterminée.

This definition is for consumer spending, but points in the right direction.

The credit is allocated or earmarked for a specific purpose - as against non-earmarked credit which is non-specific.

I did wonder about 'targeted credit' - but I think this is different.

Thanks Alain - sorry for the delay in answering. My email wasn't receiving mail from ProZ for some reason. I found out from the client that he wants to call it Allocated Stock Credit so will add to glossary

neutral  Richard Benham: I wonder whether "credit" is not ambiguous or misleading here. Maybe "loan" would be better?//One or the other! But given that it's about "financing" for a commercial operation and the "ligne de crédit", I suspect the money's being borrowed.

-> Yes. Don't you think this is where funds have been allocated for particular purposes? Maybe 'funds' would be more appropriate.
