Sounds rather like a euphemism for "we got screwed by these guys who ordered some coachbuilding and made a down/advance payment/deposit, so we went ahead and did the work, but we never heard from them so we're stuck with this customized van in shocking pink, alloy wheels and fat tyres, with leather swivel seats and a fully functioning jacuzi and electric towel rail in the back and are desperately looking for some muggins to sell it to".
