Hello Chris, not much else to go than what I've already given. I've found a picture on the net which may help http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6572126-0-large.jpg. In my picture the "axe" passes through the center of 7 on the net drawing.

The pivot point (presumably the ball-joint) is located wrt the centre of the "bobine" on the wishbone (triangle). By centre they must mean the diametral centre, in which case they are saying that the ball-joint is just below the suspension coil spring, which kind of makes sense. Only one "bobine" is mentioned, whereas there are usually at least 2 bushes on the "triangle". It's not clear what the function of the "axe" is for the rear suspension. Any clues?

Hi Terry, I've been down the coil spring road as well and had it been ressort hélicoidal then it would be easy, but bobine.... The picture I have suggests the housing the bushing fits into as you've described, is there a special term (casing, housing..)
Please post an answer, I'm pretty sure your on the right track, Susan

The "obvious" translation for bobine is coil. Generally, this means the ignition coil but here we are talking about suspension components. The only thing coil-like in the suspension are the coil springs so that's the next most "obvious" choice. Unfortunately, the rear bushing description seems to contradict that. I can't think of a bushing that would be aligned with the centre of the coil spring. In fact, I would expect them to be at right angles to the spring.
AFAIK, the only vaguely coil-like part in a suspension that is on the same axis as the bushing would be the housing the bushing fits into.
