French to English translations [PRO]
Marketing - Automotive / Cars & Trucks | | French term or phrase: rebondissement | Hi,
I have looked at other entries for this already but I'm not sure they fit in this context. This comes from a survey including responses regarding customer service and experiences dealing with a car manufacturer. The whole sentence is "meilleure connaissance des produits en atelier - du rebondissement lors de la demande de devis, de documenation, d'infos."
This is from France and it is to be translated into UK English. I've found "rebound" and "new development" but I don't think they fit.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Imho, "what to say" is closer than "feedback" or "response" as the "rebondissement" is shaped by what the salesperson has learned in training; so, in other words, this term is about the "prescribed" response when asked these questions, not just a plain-old answer.
rebondissement = how to react as a response/prescribed response or comeback (what you are supposed to say)

I am just have a hunch that "what to say" is what we may naturally say in English here. Perhaps that was what was guiding my explanation above, even though the definition of "rebondissement" in this context in French is just "réactivité" (de la personne en question). I just think the term needs "fine-tuning" in English, if you will. |
