In an Automotive Design Manual. I'll give you some context:

MODE DE VISUALISATION
Le mode de visualisation standard du XXX du modèle échangé est NHR. Ceci pour des raisons de performance lors de chargement de session ***depuis un arbre de la maquette numérique***.

Maquette numerique means "model". The "arbre" part is confusing me.

agree  Oliver Walter: Certainly data structure can be "trees", analogous to the "tree" that is the hierarchy of folders one can have on the hard disk.
