The strains of bacteria using in the test are to be preserved as follows:
"Les souches sont livrées par la mycothèque sur milieu artificiel. Pour les conserver, après un mois, les repiquer sur carotte; à la fin du mois suivant, les repiquer sur les milieux artificiels définis ci-dessous [...] : flocons d'avoine 50 g, gélose en branche 20 g, eau distillée q.s.p. 1000 ml"
Why porridge is used for this, I don't know ;-).
"GĂ©lose" is apparently "agar", but what's the correct term for "en branche" in this context? Stick agar?
If it helps, a footnote says that a powdered form can be used if it gives equivalent results.
