European Central Bank Explanation: The reference source is Termium Plus, the Canadian government's translation bureau's terminology bank. The source of the specific term is the weekly periodical, The Economist: English:Financial Institutions European Central Bank CONT - The European Central Bank will control monetary policy; EMU's [Economic and Monetary Union] finance ministers will have a say on exchange-rate policy; and fiscal policy will (within limits) stay in the hands of individual European governments.
