after various assaults by the ARC the assets need reevaluation, the old procedure is invalid Explanation: or maybe it's the ARC that's being destroyed? More context would help, what is ARC? |

ARC could mean: Explanation: Association pour la Recherche Cognitive Alberta Research Council Acquisition et Représentation des Connaissances Action de Recherche Concertée Association pour la Recherche sur le Cancer Alliance des Radios Communautaire Association pour la recherche au collégial ... the list goes on (that's after 14 sets of Google results. However, probably none of these is right. If you ever find out, let us know! |

Three comments Explanation: 1 - "après différentes destructions de l'ARC" I read this bit to mean that the ARC is the one being destroyed. If it is about the French cancer research charity organisation (http://www.arc.asso.fr/), then this might be a reference to the financial scandals which hit the headlines a couple of years back. Some of the charity's senior administrators were caught with their hands in the till after having diverted funds from donations to places where they could get their sticky mitts on it. 2 - "l'ancien protocole" Could also mean "agreement" not just procedure. 3 - "est devenu caduc" "has become (present perfect not present indicative) nul and void", with an implication that it is so because time has run out. The last two could be read together to mean that an old agreement is now time-barred, arguable not quite the same as an old procedure being invalid. |
