I would think in this context, marché has the meaning of contract or account, not markets... and animation would be the management (leading the relationships, in a sense).

Sorry, that should say 'the management of the accounts or contracts'.

Also, the 'verticale organisée en marchés' could mean that the sales department is organised by key accounts (since it is very small, or 'très réduit').

Explanation:
I actually find this a bit of a puzzler. Any self-respecting branch network is bound to be of a reasonable size, so I don't see how they could run market-wide promotion campaigns with a team described as very small. Also I find the French a bit odd. D'habitude ce sont les agences (ou autres forces de vente) qu'on anime et pas le marché lui-même

agree  Marc Glinert: Sylvia! I wondered when we would see you here. You may well be right. I must admit I'm totally at a loss with this one.Animation usually has a sales connotation.
