In an article describing a French company. This part of the article describes its working schedule.

XXX (the company) emploie YY personnes et tourne en 5 x 8, 24 h sur 24, toute l'annee.

I suspect it means a working rota of 5 days on and 3 days off but can anyone please correct or confirm this?

agree  JOHN A: May be you're right... although I would suspect that only 3 teams work during any 24 hour period. You would still need "replacement" teams over the week to allow for rest time.
