French to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general) | | French term or phrase: activités ONSS | Activites ONSS
This term is a heading in a company data sheet with
business activities listed below it. Another heading, "acitivites TVA" precedes it, with business activities listed below it as well. I realize that "ONSS" refers to the Social Security Office, but are they simply talking about business activities subject to social security tax (as well as VAT)? |
| | | You have it | Explanation: Seems to me they are referring to companies whose business is subject to ONSS regulations and requirements (because they employ staff; as a sole proprietor with no personnel, I would not have an "activité ONSS"). I, on the other hand, have an "activité TVA" because I am subject to VAT. I don't know the VAT situation in Belgium, but in the UK for instance, where food and children's clothing have no VAT (confirmation?) a seller of either (exclusively) would not have an "activité VAT". Shops selling other things in addition to kids' clothes and food would have a "VAT activity". |
