French term or phrase: administrateur en nom propre

This is a list of mandates held by corporate officers of a French marketing company. One of them is named (for company XXX) as "Répresentant d'YYY, Administrateur, Administrateur en nom propre" and then listed as "Administrateur en nom propre" for a series of other companies. I have a TM - a previous translator has translated it as "Director on his own behalf" but I would like to confirm that this is the correct translation as it gets very few hits on Google and I can't find it in any glossaries or dictionary resources.

Does it mean that he is the sole director of the company/companies in question? Is there an accepted English term?
