French term or phrase: imputé
Hello

What does this mean with repsect to the surety bond? Here is the context:

"Le montant des amendes et/ou pénalités peut, le cas échéant, être imputé d'abord sur les factures et ensuite sur le cautionnement dans la limite de celui-ci"

Thanks for your help

English translation:applied
Explanation:
I think you can use this word here to show that the fines or penalties are applied first by being added to the invoice amounts and failing that taken from the surety

claimed against

Explanation:
i think it means that the fines or penalties must first be claimed against the 'factures' (I don't know how that works in this sense) and only then against the surety or bail bond

disagree  juliebarba: claimed ON the invoices could work but not against. It would mean that penalties can be included on invoices and if then, for example if they remain unpaid, they would be deducted from the bond/surety
