capitalized (as an intangible asset)


Explanation:
Isabel's suggestion sounds fine to me, but I tend to use "capitalize" for "activer". Maybe it puts more emphasis on the fact that they aren't charging the item to expenses.
How businesses manage to get away with booking some losses/expenses as balance sheet assets is another question...

neutral  Isabel Hohneck: As it is a negative margin, I would not use 'capitalize' - but I certainly agree that these are indeed 'interesting' booking methods.

  -> Point taken. I've just been working on a translation with "capitalized expenses" so perhaps got a bit blinkered.
