This comes right at the end of the Certificate. I would like to know the answer in an English U.S. context please. Here's the context:

Le present jugement est devenu definitif et executoire des le 3 december 2007.

mde (which are the initials of the female registrar / la greffière)
Explanation:
I have translated enough certificates to know that at the end of the certificate comes the following information:

- Place where certificate was signed
- Date when certificate was signed
- Signature followed by printed name in capitals of the person responsible for awarding the certificate
- Title of the person

NB. I doubt that "mde" stands for either:
1. merde
OR
2. Maîtrise de la demande en énergie (Energy demand management)
in this context.

neutral  writeaway: good grief! Here's the entry I made in the discussion box 16 minutes after question was asked: initials of La Greffière?? 19:59 Oct 20 /you've added nothing except an explanation about all your experience. you could have stated where you got the answer

-> Well, you should have made the entry as an answer, then no other answer would have been required. That isn't my problem. Plus, my thread is a bit more detailed and expansive than what you offered by way of explanation.

I also suspect that these are initials - but Wikipedia suggests Mexican Dance Ensemble ... which is certainly more amusing

agree  writeaway: thanks for having the courtesy to acknowledge you saw that initials had already been suggested as answer as a comment in the discussion box. That's the way kudoz etiquette used to be. sadly that's apparently no longer the case for some....
