Thanks SO much for letting us know what you learned! So often, it seems, an Asker will close a question with "answer found elsewhere" and leave us in the dark.

I think that you may be right about "maître et professeur" because the translation company told me that the certificates had been translated from Serbian into French. So surely "m.p." would be French here? My job is to translate them from French into English.

As the school is in the Republic of Serbia and the names are certainly not French, why do you assume that the abbreviation is French? Isn't it more likely to be Serbian?
