Explanation:
I read it as 'the product tends to block the seive as it is a bit waxy, so sieve slowly'. So it depends how literal you feel you have to be. Something like 'product tends to be waxy, so sieve slowly' seems perfectly reasonable. On the other hand you could go with clog or block (see link) and have something like 'Sieve slowly as the waxy product tends to clog up the sieve'.

  -> just like cirer doesn't mean the same as cireux..same difficulty in Fr&En..I agree,however, I'd instinctively use cireux in Fr.And "waxy" in En, since there are many links refering to "waxy product">see links.Don't think it'd be wrong in this case :)
