I sometimes wonder who writes these specifications!
Compressed air flows around/washes over the 'biballons'.
Any other sensible suggestions welcome. And no I am not the one blowing into the ballon this morning!!

I imagine it's a typo for barboter, to bubble the gas through the liquid in this system.
