According to my monolingual dictionaries, I'm only getting the idea of "defense" (write a defense). I could be wrong, but I'm just going by the definitions I'm reading.

If it's a kind of short outline of the content of the rest of the doc (for those who won't read all five pages), I'd go for "synopsis". It's the same meaning as "pitch", but a bit more what you'd find on a written document I think.
