That's the term I hear all the time in IT; very rarely just "client station". The difference between a client workstation and just a workstation is that the latter doesn't depend on a server. The server in E-learning is in fact the teacher and the client is the equivalent of a H-learner's desk, books, etc.
(H-learner = human learner; yes, I know most learners are humans, but if E-learning is "electronic learning", what is an E-learner?)
