Explanation:
Invariant, while it exists, is, in my experience, never used.
And if your text is going to be read by non-technical people, it should definitely be avoid, IMHO.
An invariant, as the name suggests, is an element whose value never changes. More often that not, these are refered to as either a fixed value, or a hard-coded value.
Luckily there is an example to make it clear exactly what it means anyway, but I would definitely choose either fixed value (e.g for a business requirements spec) or hard-coded value (e.g for a program spec).
