French term or phrase: sélectionneur
in a patent, so i'm camouflagiing a bit, but a router has "paquets d'information qui entrent dans un *sélectionneur*", and "par définition, un *sélectionneur* est un organe qui sélectionne un file menant à un traitement spécifique". it can also select incoming data packets at the input ports based on their IP address, the encapsulated protocol, IP packet field, etc. And i thinks it's just 'upstream' of the scheduler
Thanks for your help
