It would be really useful if you could just cite the relevant term you're having trouble with in the question, and then provide all that nice context as well.

This was my doubt, as some have pointed out, the original said dalle, not just ecran tactile. I wasn't sure if there was a particular way to do a literal translation that would be better than "touch screen." However, further down the text we find: 1.En maintenant la touche CTRL, déplacer, à l’aide de l’écran tactile, la pastille rouge et relâcher le bouton CTRL pour définir l’emplacement.
So they use "ecran tactile," and that's the only place it appears, so I think the original tech writer was a little overzealous with their description, because, as I understand it, it's not a touchpad, but a touch screen.
