French term or phrase:émotionnel à la demande (FOD)
I'm fairly sure that a computer can't be "emotional", so what are the manufacturers offering here? the acronym is probably a clue - Feeling On Demand?
Here's some more blurb from the same product press release: " [Product X] est un nouveau type d'ordinateur basé sur un concept innovant d'assemblage permettant la création d'une attache émotionnelle durable et ainsi lutter contre une sur-consommation en consommant mieux."
Any help with emotions here would be much appreciated!

I hadn't really wanted to let slip the client name, but since the wording is fairly unique and they claim to be the only ones at work on such a concept, I shouldn't be surprised.
It's a knotty little problem and will probably have to be solved by client consultation: but we find out a few things along the way.
It's not so much that the computer has emotions (although that is being developed, see Wordalia's reference below), as the creation of an emotional/affective link between user and computer because the user has assembled the computer (so will be less likely to get rid of it after a short period).
Well, since they say it's "le premier ordinateur émotionnel" you better ask them what it means. Who knows, maybe it does turn emotional from time to time and throws a fit or something :-)
I'm not particularly keen on the way this is worded, so appreciate suggestions to improve it!
