Thanks for that - I asked the question again later in the day hoping that you would all see it with the new definition I found, but no joy. I went for "printouts/print-outs" in the end.

Explanation: I think maybe the French uses the wrong word based on the context. Notice they put an S on informations as well. Otherwise it might be versions, but I don't think so.
Explanation: If the user records a sound using the Alert Sounds control panel, the recorded sound is saved as a resource of type 'snd ' in the System file. That sound then appears in the list of available alert sounds. Note that the Alert Sounds control panel supports the standard Edit menu commands on sounds stored in the System file. The Cut command copies the selected sound to the Clipboard and removes it from the list of system alert sounds. The Copy command just copies the selected sound to the Clipboard. The Paste command takes a sound copied from the Clipboard and places it in the list of available alert sounds. If your application allows users to manipulate sound resources, it should support the copying and pasting of sound resources through the Clipboard. However, the Undo command does not work with sound-related editing operations.

OR
First, all the analogue sources are the same, regardless of the different lines from which you select. You still have to specify the source with the mixer. The different options give you different icons on the screen and may let Adaptec (some day) tune the cleaning operations to the kind of source being used. Next, if you select any of the options - cleaning or equalizing volume - the program will record the signal to the HD, then process it, then produce the output WAV file
FINAL: OUTPUTS
Output is the word used in sound recording
