Well, you still haven't given us all the context, but this seems a perfectly suitable way to describe at least some type of menu --- certainly 'à la carte' might be described like this!

At last! Well, in that case, I think my suggestion would be suitable... You are free to choose anything you like on an 'à la carte' menu, which fits beautifully with my idea.
