French term or phrase: What is the correct spelling for mer qua ?
Three vegetables are cooked together, as in roasting meat or poultry. It is carrots, onions, and celery. It is also referred to as the vegetable trinity. I am having trouble finding the correct French spelling for mer qua. Can you help?

I suspect you have misheard the FR word 'mirepoix', to which the Cajun "holy trinity" of vegetables is sometimes likened.
