I wrote "shallot compote" but I'm not sure if this has the same meaning as "compote d'échalotes"? |

I think it sounds better in a culinary register, like "breast of chicken" vs. "chicken breast." That's just my opinion :). But yes, shallot compote and compote of shallot are the same thing, and work for "compote d'échalotes" as well as "échalotes compotees" :) |
