French term or phrase: les main en coque
This appears in a description of a massage for the eye area. The first step is 'poser les mains en « coque » sur les yeux'

Thanks for any suggestions.

cup your hands
Explanation:
I am guessing what they must mean here, really.

Perhaps it might be this, as it is an established eye massage method.

See for instance:

"Cup your hands and gently press the palms over your eye sockets, without touching the eyes or eyelids themselves. Your fingers should be pointing out and upwards, towards your hairline, or where your hairline used to be. Now press your palms evenly inward, creating a uniform pressure all around the skull and muscles that enclose your eyes."

cupped hands; palmed hands

Explanation:
LE PALMING consiste à poser les paumes des mains en coque sur les yeux (fermés). (http://bienetredesyeux.blogspot.com)

"The ancient Indian Yogis and Chinese Taoists practiced eye palming techniques for thousands of years. They "palmed" their eyes as a form of meditation or inner visualization and relaxation. "Palming" is performed by gently 'cupping' both palms over the eyes, blocking out as much light as possible. Palm for five minutes daily." (www.healthy-ojas.com)
