French term or phrase:placez la lime de couleur gris foncé légèrement sous l’ongle
placez la lime de couleur gris foncé légèrement sous l’ongle
This is from a sentence where it is explained how to use a file for filing nails. I would be very much grateful if you can let me know what exactly it means. Thanks for your kind help in advance.
Explanation: Similar to Howard Sugar's suggestion, however I think coloured is unnecessary and it reads better without.
Also I think légèrement refers to the position of the file in relation to the nail (i.e. marginally or fractionally), and not to the required nimbleness or gentleness of the person performing the manicure!
place the dark grey colored file lightly under the nail
Explanation: It straight forward . Lime is a file (or nail file if you like)
