French term or phrase: Histoires de peaux
I need help with the title for this article which is about Clinique and it's skin care products. It tells a bit about its history and the new products that are out.

The title is: Clinique, Histoires de peaux....

So what should we say? Clinique, _________________

Here is some context to give you an idea about what they say:

A tradition/legacy of skin care
Explanation:
This phrase definitely does not work in English translated literally IMO.

Using "tradition" or perhaps "legacy" implies the same idea of years of experience in producing skin-caring products, and also has a very English flow.

agree  LauretteT: The title Histoire de peaux reminds the title of an erotic movie of the late 70's Histoires d'O, there was also "Deep throat", so ... skin deep ...

neutral  ormiston: barely a neutral - it's [vs. its!] the best so far, as long as you don't consider its common meaning (i.e. superficial, beauty is only skin dep sort of thing).

disagree  Dieezah: It has nothing to do with the source sentence's meaning.... Still, it's an article, in advertising there's a thing called formats... Your sentence just doesn't fit the format anymore than it does the meaning...

A question of skin(s)

Explanation:
Je pense qu'il sera difficile de garder l'allusion au film, le problème de **skin deep** c'est que cela n'annonce pas un déroulé de thèmes sur la peau... si c'est ce qui va suivre dans le texte....

beauty care with a French touch

Explanation:
I think it is more appropriate to go by the content & register of the text than to attempt to find a parallel or witticism. As they go on about beauty rather than skin and the brand's 'Frenchness' this might work (although maybe too wordy?)

disagree  Dieezah: I think you missed an important element here "histoires" is there to let you expect a tale about how the Brand came to be what it is.... Can"t overlook that part altogether as you do !
4 hrs
-> given that the French 'clin d'oeil' cannot be rendered it might be better to avoid talking about skin (hi)story
