French to English translations [PRO] Cosmetics, Beauty / massage | | French term or phrase: pincements battages | Hello,
I know many French terms are used in massage, but I don't think this is one of them.
Context: description of an upscale spa massage treatment:
Pétrissage lents et profonds, **pincements battages**, pincement repulpants, lissages circulaires « efface rides »… se succèdent pour regonfler les ridules de déshydratation, décontracter les rides d’expression, repulper les rides marquées et affiner le grain de peau.
All ideas gratefullly received!
Thank you. |

| | percussion pinching | Explanation: This covers various types, and it may be specifically the type of percussion pinching known as pummel and pinch.
Like so many of these techniques, it is based on Swedish massage therapy. I think the word "tapotement" is more common than "battage", but I think this is equivalent to "pummel" here.
"percussion massage:
Using the pummel and pinch methods, a percussion massage is given to improve blood flow around the neck, shoulders, and back muscles. Here, the pummel and pinch strokes will be faster than other massage techniques"
