An alcaline perm solution offers the following sales points
 Permanente douce
 Permanente souple style "support de coupe"

My instinct is telling me that the perm is soft enough to allow the hair to be cut afterwards, but I could be well off the mark, and would therefore appreciate advice/opinions.

This is aimed at the professional hairdresser's market.

This is what I have found on the Fauvert website: "supports the haircut". Nothing to do with saucers then.
This is in itself a poor translation from the French but at least you can sort of see what they mean!
