agree Jane Lamb-Ruiz: I really think here they might be referring to a mere sign..actually, it's brand name not just brand.

disagree rkillings: Mildly disagree. 'Brand' sometimes works as a translation, but sometimes it does not. 'Enseigne' is the name of the store (chain), whereas 'marques' are the brands that it sells. For example, 'Marks & Spencer' is an enseigne, but 'St. Michael' is a brand.

sign ////(trade name versus brand name)

Explanation:
I think your text might just be referring to a sign. And it's trade name otherwise.

The trade name == The name which designates a business - whether a sole proprietorship, a partnership, or a corporation - such as FORD MOTOR COMPANY, is called a trade name.
The trademark == The brand names which designate a company's products, whether they are cars, cookies, or cassocks (for example, CAMARO, OREO, BEAUVEST), is termed a trademark.

If marketing...the idea is not just brand..it\'s Brand Name..

--------------------------------------------------

Final: The brand name designates a multinational such as McDonald\'s or Danone.

Not brand alone...:)
