French term or phrase: à l’abri des effets de mode et de séduction
From a visual communications school brochure:

Savoir discerner les valeurs essentielles à préserver dans l’enseignement dispensé, à l’abri des effets de mode et de séduction, tel est le propre d’une formation de qualité.

It's really the seduction part that's tripping me up. Trying to think of a way to use "appeal", but without much success.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Terry's suggestion below about peer pressure has got me thinking a bit...what about "outside pressure" for seduction?

trendy and beguiling

Explanation:
I realize those are the wrong parts of speech, but I was wondering if you could somehow turn it round to incorporate them as adjectives in this way?

Just a thought!

May be it helps to convey the meaning. The attraction may be appealing or fascinating or pleasing. This may give you how you could use appeal.
