I actually wrote a note, which was meant to be under 1045's answer, suggesting that his/her answer was already included in Jean-Christophe's. For some reason, my comment appears under Melissa's answer. I don't see anything actually wrong with saying, selected from among what market leaders propose, although it is a bit awkward, and so just saying from what market leaders propose is enough. You could probably say, from among the things suggested by market leaders. So I totally agree with your comment.

So here, you could get away with saying "themes selected from among the market leaders", meaning themes selected from all the ones proposed by the market leaders. Sorry to bother you, but answers here make it seem that this can't be said in English.

In English, you can say "the stories selected from among 80 students,", even though it's not super clear without context. It would mean the same thing as "the stories selected among those submitted by 80 students" Do you see where I am coming from?
