Of which

Explanation:
This is no acronym that I know of. More likely, someone was trying to make a phrase with a collective subject and put (dont) dont= "of which", "among them") to specify. It is strage to put it in parens tho.

Example sentence(s):
  • On a beaucoup de voitures (dont) la plupart ne roulent pas.

neutral  writeaway: who knows without more context? /according to asker it's an acronym. if it's the bog standard word 'dont', then this is definitely not a pro question. without clarification from Asker, this is a just a hopeful guess

  -> It's a suggestion since this is a standard term, see my ref.

neutral  Joan Berglund: agree with writeaway, usually means of which, for which, whose, or including, for a start but really usually refers back to something else that needs to be considered for accurate translation - come to think of it, coudl be "about which" in this context

neutral  xxxCMJ_Trans: it could even be "for example"
