Can someone point me in the right direction please?

agree  writeaway: I'd say keep the FR and put an English equivalent in brackets./also have a lot of experience with docs about Fr and Bel schools. Unless it's a straightforward "University of", it's always advisable to keep the original name

  -> Could be done this way too, depends on the customer. I'm in the thick of a series of translations on education in France and have been asked to do it this way but have been asked to do it vice-versa in the past!
agree  xxxcjung: I agree with your translation but would capitalize "National School" (what do we do with "Supérieure"?). I also agree with writeway on the EN equivalent in brackets.

If the readership is primarily European, then this would be best IMO.

It would possibly be best to include its acronym, ENSAD, too so that anyone who is interested can find them easily on the web and identify the actual establishment

I disagree that ENSAD has no right to be called a Grande Ecole - here are some links to back up my use of the term.

La Conférence des grandes écoles (CGE), association professionnelle loi 1901, utilise une définition assez large de la notion de "grande école", non restreinte aux écoles recrutant majoritairement sur les concours préparés par les CPGE, et s'étendant à un certain nombre d'établissements d'enseignement supérieur menant à un diplôme après cinq années d'études supérieures et recrutant majoritairement sur dossier ou épreuves après le baccalauréat. La liste des membres de la CGE ne constitue pas une liste « officielle » de grandes écoles.

neutral  writeaway: "Grande Ecole" is a specifically French term and can't be used freely. This school is not a 'Grande Ecole'. /different meaning. not meant as one of the "Grandes Ecoles' like ENS

neutral  xxxcjung: I'm afraid your translation could refer to any "Grande Ecole" which works in that field and in this case it seems to be one specific school only.
