French term or phrase: chercheur agrégé
A est chercheur agrégé à l'Université de B.

This is in a CV from a Swiss national. I am not sure how to translate 'agrégé' in this context succinctly.

Many thanks in advance for any ideas!

post-doctoral research associate

Explanation:
This is the equivalent in the UK and the US - although the PhD is arguably less rigourous than the aggrégation, which is a competitive examination.

disagree  David Sirett: Not equivalent: a post-doc doesn't usually have formal teaching duties, which come in the next job, (junior) lecturer/assistant professor, which would be a closer equivalent in level, if not qualification.

-> They may have, it depends on the contract. Not all university systems have the category of 'assistant professor'.
