agree  writeaway: general/overall abilities. (capacités would be skills). since it's plural (aptitudes), the literal translation (aptitude) doesn't really work here

In AE I think we would say something like "administrative skill" or "organizational ability" for this idea. In other words, not just a good nurse, but a nurse who can organize her time and multi-task, etc.

neutral  polyglot45: I think this is more the idea but think a word like "profession" might be better. "job" sounds rather downmarket

  -> Thanks, polyglot! I see your point, but anymore, "job" is used in more formal contexts, too. But I think we'd say " professional aptitude", not "profession" We'd make it an adjective. Have a nice day.
