French term or phrase: éva. scolarité
On a transcript for the French Bacc (serie L, European section, specialising in English lang, if that helps), at the bottom of the table of marks for each subject, just above the totals/averages, the following appears in smaller letters:

18 POUR INFO ** ** EVALUAT. SPEC.
20 POUR INFO (4) ** EVA. SPEC. LANG ANGLAIS
06 POUR INFO (1) ** EVA. SCOLARITE

In the grades given higher up, the candidate did receive 18 under the discipline "ev.sp. sec e/o", and 20 under "LV1 complem. anglais compl.". so that seems to match up. But I'm lost with this "eva. scolarité". Attendance is the only thing that occurs to me...

Thanks in advance.

évaluation de la scolarité
evaluation / assessment of school attendance

Explanation:
Literally "evaluation of schooling".

http://www.wordreference.com/fren/scolarite

durant ma **scolarité** = when I was at school

This implies "attendance" at school.

neutral  Stéphanie Soudais: Ce n'est pas le sens, cf références de SJLD//Ou alors c'est moi qui ne saisis pas bien le sens "attendance".

participation and linguistic and communicative competencies

Explanation:
The three descriptions of what the 'évaluation de la scolarité' should encompass constitute a mixed bag, so it makes it hard to find one comprehensive word as a translation. It involves classroom participation, linguistic proficiency, and communicative abilities. My proposed translation is not concise, but neither is the original wording.

Note to reference poster
Asker: That's really helpful - thanks a lot. My only problem now is what to put in English without writing a whole essay...!

Asker: I'm sure you've hit the nail on the head here. Perhaps you could post one of your suggestions as an answer so I can award you the points?
