This is an electronics packaging company making enclosures, cabinets, etc. for electronics equipment. Bacs I believe are racks but I don-t know what a carte is. I am sure it is not a type, i.e. not a la carte.

Well, 'carte' in this sense is a card or board --- more traditionally, and in the UK, we have referred to them as 'boards', often they are PCBs = printed circuit boards. However, US usage and computers tend to call them 'cards', as in 'VGA card' or 'sound card'
The 'bac' is indeed probably some kind of 'rack', but you may want to ,consider 'frame' as an alternative; we've had 'panier...' before on KudoZ, and this sounds like it is the same sort of thing; unfortunately, 'bac' is a pretty loose/ambiguous term, so you need to be wary of translating it by anything more specific (and hence potentially wrong!) in English, unless you can glean any more information about exactly what physical form it takes, or at least, what it is being used for?
It is just possible, I suppose, that (as you've been dealing with bank stuff earlier) this is in fact some kind of bin for collecting 'swallowed' bank cards -- only you can tell, but in any event, 'card' will be correct!

Jana's ref. gives a trustworthy translation as 'sub-rack', but I'd prefer in the present context to keep the 'card...' in there too, so I'd say 'card rack', certainly if we know that it is definitely a 19" one? |
