in a loop
Explanation:
The sytem can't get out of the loop, it is an error in your context.

I cant find any links with both terms in the same text. Hope someone will be able to come up with one to back this up. I can only give the two definitions for you to compare.

well, well, well

Explanation:
Isn't this the pits! Looks like the program has been shafted!

Wish I knew the English for it. Something with "hang" comes to mind, but I don't know if it is really the right word.

Maybe these definitions will point someone else in the right direction:

http://www.lb.refer.org/chebaro/page4_6.htm

Sounds a bit like deadlock (deathly embrace), i.e. when the computer hangs because it simultaneously requires information from two interdependent processes.

agree  Tony M: I can't help thinking it means it's in a 'trough', but I've never actually come across this expression in EN.
