Explanation:
It would help if you gave us a bit more contect, but énergie is sometimes better translated as 'power', unless you're saying something like:

"an alternator converts mechanical energy into electrical energy"

or of course, 'renewable energy'

agree  Charlie Bavington: Agree with your 'power' observation. Would hesitate to say 'renewable' since it could include gas (if it was central heating, say). I was gonna say "non-electrical power" (or energy).

neutral  Tony M: 'alternative energies' has such a specific connotation, these days, I'm not sure it's wise here; and a hanging adjective 'electric' like that sounds odd... reminds me of the old folk who treated 'electric' as a noun.
