French term or phrase: boîtier de test
In instructions for testing a driver board:

Pour faciliter les essais fonctionnels de la carte driver, nous avons réalisé un boîtier de test.

I've come up with:

To facilitate the functional tests of the driver board, a test casing has been created.

Perhaps there is a technical term out there?

test box
Explanation:
As it says - I have made many such test boxes in my time. They are specifically designed to measure some parameter with (often) some unique interface with the equipment.

Suggest: "to facilitate functionality testing of the driver card, we have built a test box"

Since the register is mildly informal (nous avons...) I think "box" fits the general tone. Also, if the test is to be routine on more than just one driver card, you would probably want something a bit more robust than a pcb with wires coming off it. IMO "rig" sounds to "mechanical".

er, "too mechanical"

breadboard

Explanation:
A blank board where the user can add connectors, components, etc. to test a concept before actually building the final version.
Not a "boîtier" per se, but might fit in the context?

disagree  Tony M: Not in this context; this is clearly not prototyping, but a special rig to test built boards. 'breadboard' sounds a lot too informal for the register here

testing device

Explanation:
The purpose of the "boîtier de test" is to test the driver board, so I assume that they built some enclosed circuit box to perform the tests by linking the box to various inputs/outputs on the board

test rig

Explanation:
does not need to be a box as such. Simply pcb with various add-on bits is often all that is used for such tests.
